Specifically, state legislation regulates how hazardous chemicals or dangerous goods are stored, handled, transported and disposed of in the working environment. The legislation can be confusing and require a considerable amount of time to interpret what risks are related to the nature, use and volume of chemicals on site. The aim of this course is to reduce the confusion and simplify the terminology when managing hazardous chemicals or dangerous goods in the working environment.

Where inadequate controlled risks are identified, recommendations are advised with suitable controls measures that can be implemented to minimise the risk, so far as is reasonably practicable.
