Safe Work in Confined Spaces Training

HAZCON has developed a comprehensive training program providing participants with specific details of the WorkSafe Victoria Compliance Code: Confined spaces and the OHS Regulations and their expectations on Victorian workplaces.

Duration: 2 days

Aim: This program will not only provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely perform work activities in a Confined Space area. It will also provide a thorough understanding of the WorkSafe Victoria Compliance Code: Confined spaces.

Key Areas Covered:

  • The Compliance Code - Confined Spaces
  • OHS Regulations Part 3.4 Confined Space
    • Overview, Structure and Purpose of the Compliance Code
    • Duties of employers in regards to confined spaces
  • Work Safely in Confined Spaces:
    • Identify potential confined space environments and determine risk
    • Control entry to 'confined space'
    • Use  of personal protective, fall prevention and rescue equipment
    • Activate rescue procedures
    • Undertake clean up procedures
  • Select & use respiratory protection devices for work in confined spaces:
    • Select respiratory protection devices
    • Operate with respiratory protection devices
    • Undertake clean-up procedures
  • Apply Basic Fire Prevention Techniques in Confined Spaces:
    • Classify combustion hazards
    • Identify the hazards of fire in a confined space

Target Audience: All personnel performing workplace activties in a confined space area.
