Legionella is a bacterium that is naturally found in fresh water, as well as man-made water sources. The bacterium thrives in water temperatures between 20 and 45 degrees centigrade. It can be found in hot and cold water systems, cooling towers, condensers, hot tubs, humidifiers and emergency showers to name a few.
There are various state requirements to undertake Risk Management Plans (RMP), conduct routine investigations, cleaning and maintenance programs. HAZCON are certified Cooling Tower Auditors and can conduct review of RMP's.
